Week #3: Refer or not to refer

Week #3: Refer or not to refer

This week was dedicated to start the co-design process of the mobile intervention. Niall, Simon and Isabella, together with Community Health Workers (CHWs), Community Health Extension Workers (CHEWs) and Community Health Committee (CHC) members from Kasikeu in Makueni and Kibera,  defined the first area of intervention of the project.

The application has been named “Refer or not to refer” and it focuses on Maternal, New Born and Child Health; in particular on child’s development stages. It will support CHWs to identify dangerous signs, to make a diagnosis and to decide whether or not to refer a patient. It will do so, by leveraging peer to peer communication and CHW-CHEW communication.
