mCHW – Spreading the Word

mCHW – Spreading the Word

It has been another busy few months for the mCHW project team. The successful scale up in November and December of the project to 100 community health volunteers and their supervisors in Kibera and Makueni with ongoing refresher trainings, was followed by an inspiring Capacity Building trip by Amref Health Africa collaborators Dr Alice Lakati and Simon Murithi to London and Oxford in January and early February (Simon and Alice will share their experience here shortly). The mCHW project and particularly the Whatsapp group was further highlighted as one example to share local community and health news among community health volunteers and community members at a recent Global Media Player Symposium in Doha, Qatar. And the impact of female mCHW health volunteers was discussed at the UNESCO mobile learning week in Paris this week.
